    • New Energy - handles the company’s development and production of new technologies and services including exploration in renewable energy and innovation on energy solutions such as rooftop solar, electric vehicles and digital metering
    • Investments – handles AGL’s investment portfolio in energy related businesses (for example, ActewAGL Retail Partnership)

  • AGL’s history dates back to the origin of the Australian Gas Light (AGL) Company in 1837. The Australian Gas Light Company was responsible for lighting the street lamps of Sydney

  • Following the merger of AGL's infrastructure assets with Alinta Limited (an energy infrastructure company) in October 2006, AGL Energy was subsequently separated and listed on the ASX


  • AGL’s customers are residential (consumer), commercial and industrial customers (business) and electricty wholesalers


  • The company is headquartered in New South Wales, Australia
